Sir Roger Taylor, the chair of Ofqual, has been knighted in the 2021 New Year Honours for services to education. Sir Roger has been at the helm of Ofqual since October 2014 and has taken on several important roles during his tenure.

During this period, he has overseen qualifications reforms to ensure that young people are well prepared for work and higher education. He has also led Ofqual through key educational changes, such as the transition from linear to modular GCSEs and A-levels, and played an integral role in developing public trust in assessment over the years.
