Teachers Threaten to Strike During Exams

This could disrupt thousands of pupils’ exam plans and put them in a difficult situation as they prepare for their final exams. The EIS has stated that it would be an absolute last resort to strike during examination periods but will do so if necessary.

As a result, there is increased pressure on both sides to agree soon before any further disruption is caused. It is essential that pupils are given every chance to succeed; therefore, it is in the best interests of all parties that a resolution is reached as soon as possible.

The EIS will be holding further talks with the government to agree, but until then, they are prepared to take whatever action necessary to ensure their members’ voice is heard. It remains to be seen what happens next, but teachers and pupils alike will have to wait and see how this situation plays out.
