Police have stepped in amid a dispute between protesters and a developer over designs to fell an oak tree.
A woman has occupied a wooden platform on the tree, which has guarded position, in Ashingdon Street, Rochford, because approximately 21:30 BST on Thursday.
Officers from Essex Law enforcement cordoned off the location and fencing was place up all around the tree.
