Limit Surpassed for Applications in the UK

The UK government has announced that the limit on the number of students a university can sponsor to study in the UK will be shifted to September 2022. This change comes from the unprecedented volume of applications received for the September 2022 intake.

Due to the UKVI limit, we can no longer issue any further CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies) for September 2022. We advise all students planning to apply for September entry to check the latest guidance on the UKVI website.

In addition, to compensate for the issue, the Department of Education has agreed to several measures, including:

– Allowing universities to sponsor an additional 1,000 students for September 2022 entry. This is in addition to the 5,500 places that were announced in March.

– Making available an additional £5 million in funding for universities to support students who require visas to study in the UK.

– Extending the deadline for applications from overseas students until 12 August 2022.

The DfE understand that this change will have impacted your intended study plans and would therefore like to offer an additional £100 scholarship in the form of a tuition fee discount should you choose to defer to an alternative start date of January 2023 or September 2023.
