Exam Arrangements Will Return to Normalcy

After a tumultuous few years, exams in England are finally returning to normal. Ofqual has confirmed that from 2023, GCSE, AS, and A level exams will largely go back to pre-pandemic arrangements. This means that senior examiners will use the grades achieved by previous cohorts of students and prior attainment data to inform their decisions about where to set grade boundaries.

This is good news for students worried about the potential disruption to their studies. It also means that those affected by the pandemic will not be at a disadvantage when it comes to getting their dream job or furthering their studies.

According to Education Secretary Gavin Williamson, the return to normality signifies that the government is \”committed to ensuring young people can fulfil their potential\”.

\”Our world-leading exam system is one of the best in the world, and I am confident it will continue to provide students with the opportunities they deserve,\” he said.

So, if you\’re worried about exams, don\’t be – normality is on its way.

Education Secretary Kit Malthouse said: \”The government is committed to ensuring young people can fulfil their potential. Our world-leading exam system is one of the best in the world, and I am confident it will continue to provide students with the opportunities they deserve.\”

\”This return to normality is a sign that we are moving in the right direction, and our youngsters will be able to get on with their lives without worrying about the impact of Covid-19.\”

On the other hand, Chief Regulator Dr Jo Saxton warned that \”although a return to pre-pandemic grading in 2023 is the right thing to do, we must not forget the incredible challenges students have faced over the last year\”.

\”It is important that we all continue to support them through this time of uncertainty so that they can realise their full potential,\” she said.

So there you have it – exams are returning to normality. If you\’re worried about how you\’ll do, don\’t be – the system is designed to support you. And if you need any extra help, your teachers and parents will be there for you every step of the way.
