DfE Announces Continuity grant for work Support

The Department for Education (DfE) is making funding available to local authorities that have participated in the social workers in schools or designated safeguarding lead supervision trials run by What Works for Children’s Social Care. This is to continue the delivery of these intervention models during the 2022 to 2023 academic year.

This grant will help ensure that children and young people receive high-quality social work support and supervision to safeguard their well-being. It will also help to sustain the progress made by participants in the trials, which has shown positive outcomes for children and families.

We are committed to ensuring that all children and young people have access to high-quality social work support and supervision, regardless of where they live. This grant will help local authorities to continue providing these vital services to children and families in their area.

In addition, the DfE is also making funding available to local authorities that have participated in the designated safeguarding lead supervision trial to continue the delivery of this intervention model during the 2022 to 2023 academic year. This grant will help ensure that children and young people receive high-quality social work support and supervision to safeguard their well-being.

We are committed to ensuring that all children and young people have access to high-quality social work support and supervision, regardless of where they live. This grant will help local authorities to continue providing these vital services to children and families in their area.

According to the DfE, the continuity grant will be worth up to £2 million per authority. This funding is in addition to the £4 million already allocated to support the delivery of the social workers in schools and designated safeguarding lead supervision trials.
