‘Deep Breaths’



Mindfulness adjusted Mason Rollins’ everyday living.

When he was a initially grader at Rivermont Elementary College, Mason was overwhelmed by his thoughts. His principal, Jill Evans, often had to just take him outdoors right up until his meltdowns subsided.

But that was just before Mason was released to a plan at school that focuses on student very well-staying. Now, as a 10-calendar year-previous fourth grader, Mason has made strategies to talk about his thoughts, which support him to far better cope with anger.

“I really got to know Ms. Evans when I was in to start with quality and received in a large amount of issues,” Mason states. “But now, she’s my greatest mate.”

Evans started off the mindfulness software in 2019 at the elementary faculty in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was inspired by a method for academics at a nearby elementary university where Evans previously worked as a vice principal.
