Cultural Education Plan Now Led By Baroness Bull

Baroness Bull CBE has been appointed Chair of the Expert Advisory Panel for the Cultural Education Plan. The panel, which will be convened and chaired by Baroness Bull, will oversee the new plan\’s development. It will bring together a wide range of expertise from the arts, education and cultural sectors.

Baroness Bull has a long and successful career in the arts and higher education. She was a dancer with The Royal Ballet before taking on senior roles at the Royal Opera House and serving on the South Bank Centre and Arts Council England boards.

 

Schools Minister Will Quince said: \”I am delighted that Baroness Bull has agreed to chair our expert panel. Her experience and expertise will be invaluable as we develop our plans to ensure all children and young people have access to diverse cultural education and activities.\”

Arts Minister Lord Parkinson added: \”Baroness Bull is a hugely respected figure in the arts and cultural education world, and I am confident she will provide strong leadership for our expert panel.\”

 

Baroness Bull said: \”I am honoured to be chairing this expert panel and look forward to working with my fellow members to develop a plan that will ensure all young people have the opportunity to experience the joy of culture.\”

 

According to the Department for Education, the plan will set out how the government will \”work with the cultural education sector to ensure all children and young people have access to a diverse range of cultural education and activities\”.

 

According to the BBC, the announcement comes as part of a wider government strategy to \”level up\” cultural provision across England.

 

The Expert Advisory Panel will convene for the first time in Autumn 2022.
