Center school lecturers swept the contest this 12 months to come to be the 2024 Colorado Trainer of the Year, according to an announcement Friday.
All 7 finalists for the honor instruct middle university or junior superior in districts spanning the condition from Loveland to Denver to Mancos.
The Colorado Office of Schooling will pick a winner in Oct. That educator will grow to be Colorado’s nominee for the Nationwide Teacher of the 12 months competition.
“I’m thrilled to introduce this fantastic and worthy group of educators,” Colorado Instruction Commissioner Susana Córdova explained in a statement.
“Each finalist has shown an unwavering determination to his or her apply, and they have produced a profound affect on their pupils, faculties and communities,” she explained. “Any one of them would make Colorado happy as our 2024 Teacher of the 12 months.”
The 2023 Colorado Instructor of the 12 months is Jimmy Lee Working day II, the band director and instrumental new music teacher at East Center College in Aurora General public Schools.
The 2024 finalists are:
Rawa Abu Alsamah, a middle college special education instructor at Rocky Mountain Prep, formerly Try Prep, on the charter network’s Sunnyside campus in Denver Community Educational facilities.
Danielle Cerna, a sixth quality math and science teacher at Trailside Academy in Mapleton Community Educational institutions, a district north of Denver.
Ivy Dalley, a sixth grade English language arts and social reports teacher at Mancos Center School in the Mancos University District in southwest Colorado.
Miles Groth, who teaches sixth-grade Mountain Academy of Arts and Sciences, a curriculum he developed that focuses on experiential learning and environmental stewardship, at Ute Go Elementary College in Manitou Springs University District 14 in southern Colorado.
Kimberly Kane, a sixth grade English language arts trainer at Delta Middle College in Delta County College District 50J on Colorado’s western slope.
Jessica Might, who at the time of her software taught a program focused on social emotional studying, existence expertise, and looking through in the true planet to all sixth, seventh and eighth grade students at Conrad Ball Middle College in Loveland’s Thompson School District. She now teaches relatives and client science at Turner Middle College in Berthoud.
Tiffeny O’Dell, a junior higher science and CTE health and fitness instructor at Byers Junior-Senior Significant College in Byers School District 32-J east of Denver.
